2008 will see the publication of the first issue of IJASonline, the new online journal of the Irish Association for American Studies.  The IAAS will continue to publish an occasional print journal, and items included in IJASonline may be considered for subsequent revision and publication in that format, but from 2008 IJASonline will be the association’s chief official publication.  Edited by a team of Americanists based in Ireland and the United Kingdom and advised by an international panel of experts in various fields of American Studies, IJASonline will publish essays, reviews, short polemical pieces and comments, and in time it will also include an online discussion forum.  Contributions are now being considered for the inaugural issue, and essays on the following topic are particularly welcome:

 Ireland and the Americas

Essays exploring all aspects of Ireland’s engagements with the Americas are invited from scholars at all stages of their careers.  Submissions should be no more than 6,000 words in length, formatted according to current MLA guidelines, and they should be accompanied by a brief CV.

Close date for receipt of submissions for the 2008 issue of IJASonline is the 29th of February 2008.  Submissions will be acknowledged on receipt and decisions regarding publication will be provided within 4-6 weeks.
